Samsungto dominate global smartphone missions for the 2nd quarter of 2021, but Xiaomi won most, according to the last report of the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker. Xiaomi entered second place for the first time, leading Apple to third place in the second quarter of 2021. The reduction in Huawei's missions and the exit of the LG from the smartphone business caused a slight change in market positions this quarter. The total volume of missions increased by 13.2 % on an annual basis, slightly surpassing the IDC forecast for an increase of 12.5 %. The smartphones received a total of 313.2 million devices during the quarter.

In the USA, IDC reports that Motorola, TCL and OnePlus have made profits from year to year beyond what they have seen in recent years due to the withdrawal of LG. In China, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Apple continued to gain from the rapidly falling Huawei.

IDC reports that the Chinese brand Realme noted the fastest growth on an annual basis between the top 10 at 149 percent and over three-quarters of its volume come from out of China.
