Diagnosing a fault even though everyone seems to think it is something simple is not. It is the basis of a successful or unsuccessful repair.

One of the reasons most repair companies charge for diagnosing a computer or laptop fault is the time it takes for the technician to reach a conclusion about the cause of the fault.

How is a fault diagnosed?

Fault diagnosis is for us a great technical process which consists of specific stages.

Upon receipt of the laptop, our customer reports the existing fault and our technician requests a history of the laptop with possible faults and any other surgery performed in the past. It is essential to know all the operations that have been done on the laptop in the past in order to have an overview of the current state of the laptop as well as the possible causes from which the damage may have been caused.

In the next stage of the diagnosis, a check is made of the individual components of the laptop, such as chargers, batteries, keyboards, charging ports, USB ports, as well as the general condition of the laptop.

If the problem with the laptop is a problem with the motherboard, for example the cause of the fault is "the laptop does not open", then the diagnosis goes to the next stage in which the motherboard is checked. The control of the motherboard has many stages And of course it also depends on the mentioned fault.

We must also say that computers are not cars to which we can connect a diagnostic machine and the machine can tell us the cause of the fault. In computers, the diagnosis is made primarily based on the experience of the technician and secondarily based on technical drawings, based on which the technician checks to identify the cause of the fault. It is a time consuming process that requires experience and specialization.

The customer can bring us his computer and if this is possible we can diagnose the fault. Our diagnosis is accompanied if this is possible with the costing of the damage and the repair is done after the customer's approval.

The purpose of the diagnosis is for the customer to gain knowledge about the extent of the damage, whether it is repairable and at what cost. The fault diagnosis also when it concerns motherboard problems and more general complex problems, is done according to the times set by each repair (usually 1-2) days and in no case at the time of delivery of the machine.
